TAMPA (March 6, 2024) – The University of South Florida men's tennis team (6-7) bounced back after a tough stretch of matches with a 6-1 victory over Penn State (4-10) on Wednesday afternoon. No. 72 Erik Grevelius and Alvin Tudorica improved to 8-3 as a tandem and helped the Bulls dominate the Nittany Lions from start to finish in the match.

South Florida gained the early advantage with doubles wins by Grevelius and Tudorica on Court 1 while Ben Hudson and Bruno Oliveira pulled out a 7-6 (7-6) tiebreaker win on Court 3.

The Bulls continued their winning ways into singles action by securing set one across five of the six singles courts. Penn State would find some rhythm in the later sets resulting in two deciding tiebreakers and a three-set showdown for Tom Pisane. USF prevailed by sealing five singles victories to take the overall match.

No. 45 Tudorica now sits at 10-2 on the season following a hard fought victory on Court 1. Grevelius and Agustin Cuellar each won in straight sets, as did Tom Pavlekovich-Smith in a tiebreaker battle. Pisane also prevailed in a three-set triumph. Grevelius and Pisane each secured their eighth singles win on the year.
