TAMPA (March 7, 2024) – Playing on back-to-back days and coming off a dominant 6-1 victory over Penn State, the University of South Florida men's tennis team (6-8) was unable to sweep the homestand, falling to Middle Tennessee State on Thursday, 4-3.
Doubles play remained strong for the Bulls with wins by No. 72
Erik Grevelius and
Alvin Tudorica on Court 1 and
Tom Pavlekovich-Smith and
Agustin Cuellar on Court 2 for the team point. Grevelius/Tudorica improved to 9-3 as a tandem this season.
In singles competition, No. 45 Tudorica suffered a rare loss in three sets to fall to 10-3 on the year. The Blue Raiders also took Courts 3 and 4, along with Court 5 in a third set. The match was decided with the decision on Court 4.
On Court 2, Grevelius continued his strong singles play with a straight set win over the No. 114-ranked player in the country. He improved to 9-2 in singles competition. Cuellar also tallied a singles win on Court 6.

The Bulls will embark on a two-match road trip though Louisiana on March 9-10. USF first takes on Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday, March 9 and wraps up the trip at Tulane on Sunday, March 10.
