TAMPA (May 12, 2024) – The University of South Florida Bulls (25-27) returned to Tampa for the final four games of the regular season and picked up a 7-2 win over the UNF Ospreys (21-27-1) on Tuesday night to begin the homestand at USF Baseball Stadium.
Rafael Betancourt (Deltona) and Ben Rozenblum (Coral Springs) each homered and drove in three runs while Dominick Madonna (Lady Lake) turned in a quality start on the mound.
Rozenblum's three-run blast in the bottom of the second staked South Florida to an early lead and the Bulls never looked back.
USF tacked on two more runs in the third inning, including Betancourt's solo homer. Betancourt added an RBI-single in the fourth and drove in the Bulls' final run in the sixth inning.
Madonna (3-1) picked up the win against his former team with six strong innings of work while Austin Newton (Tampa), Riley Skeen (Pompano Beach) and Tanner Mink (Palm Harbor) each recorded scoreless frames from the bullpen.
