TAMPA, Fla., June 7, 2024 – University of South Florida Vice President for Athletics Michael Kelly announced a contract extension for Volleyball Head Coach
Jolene Shepardson through the 2026 season.
"We look forward to Jolene's continued leadership of the USF volleyball program and are excited for the 2024 season as they build on the momentum of last season's AAC East Division title and long run in the NIVC postseason tournament," Kelly said.
In 2023, Shepardson led the Bulls to a 22-12 (13-6) record and the American Athletic Conference East Division title. Overall, South Florida finished third in the conference, the Bulls' highest finish since 2002 when USF finished tied for first in Conference USA. The 22 wins also mark the program's most since 2002.
Shepardson led the Bulls to their fourth NIVC Tournament appearance in 2023, their first postseason berth since 2018. The Bulls captured three tournament victories and advanced to the NIVC Fab Four. It marked the longest postseason national tournament run in program history.

Head coach Jolene Shepardson enters her fifth season at the helm of her alma mater in 2024. Named head coach on Jan. 8, 2020, Shepardson led the Bulls' program to its last conference championship and NCAA tournament appearance as a student-athlete in 2002. Earning the AAC East Division title in 2023, South Florida made a postseason appearance in the NIVC, winning three games and advancing to the Fab Four to mark the longest postseason run in program history. South Florida Volleyball has made seven NCAA Tournament appearances and won 12 conference titles since its inception in 1972. The Bulls play in The Corral (1,000), located adjacent to the Yuengling Center on the USF campus.
