TAMPA, Fla. (September 3, 2024) – The University of South Florida women's soccer team is back inside the friendly confines of Corbett Stadium for another installment of the War on I-4 on Thursday. USF (3-1-1) will take on UCF (2-0-2) at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
Thursday will be an Athletes 4 Athletes match. The first 200 students will receive free food at the student tailgate. All South Florida students can receive their free tickets by

Taking Your Shot
South Florida set a new Corbett Stadium record with 40 shots against Southern on August 21. For the season, the Bulls are averaging 20.60 shots per match, which is 20th in the NCAA. USF is tied for 15th in the country with 9.80 shots on goal per match.
Bulls at a Glance
Anna Sutter paces the squad with 10 points, with four goals and two assists. Her 10 points are tied for 30th in the NCAA and is tied for fifth in the AAC. Her four goals are tied for 29th in the country and tied for third in the conference.
Georgia Brown is second on the team with three goals and seven points. Her three goals are tied for 71st in the NCAA and tied for sixth in the American.
Micahela Hill is third on the team with two goals and has added two assists for six points.

Sarah Brunner,
Sadie Sider-Echenberg, and
Sophia Cabral each have one goal for the year. Fetaj has a team-best three assists. Sutter, Brown, Hill, Sider-Echenberg, Thurton, and
Ava Rightmire all have two assists on the season. As a unit, the Bulls are fourth in the NCAA and second in the AAC with 22 assists. USF is tied for 23rd in the nation and is third in the AAC with 10 goals.
Defensively,
Leire Herraez Gallach and
Logan McGruder have split time in goal for USF. Herraez Gallach picked up the decisions in all five matches and is 3-1-1 on the year. She has made seven saves and surrendered three goals on the season. McGruder has made five saves and has surrendered four goals in three matches.
Series History with UCF
USF and UCF will meet for the 24th time on Thursday. The Knights hold a 13-6-4 series advantage. UCF has won the last two meetings, including a 2-0 decision in Orlando last season. The Bulls are 3-5-1 at home against the Knights.
Scouting the Knights
The Knights are led by Chloe Netzel with six goals. Her six goals are tied for third-most in the NCAA and tied for second in the Big 12. She is tied for 10th in the country with 13 points, which is tied for second in the Big 12. Ella Holloran, Edidiong Etim, Honoka Hamano, and Jessica McCullen have each scored one goal for UCF. Emily Thompson leads the squad with three assists. Sami Lipcon has played all four matches in goal for the Knights. She has a record of 2-0-2. She has made 17 saves and surrendered four goals on the season.

The 2024 season will be the first with Chris Brown at the helm. He spent the last 17 seasons as the associate head coach. Brown helped lead the Bulls to three AAC regular season titles, three AAC Tournament titles, and eight NCAA Tournament appearances – winning a conference title every year from 2017-21 while making five straight NCAA appearances during that period. Brown helped lead the Bulls to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2010, a program-record 16 wins and program-best NCAA Tournament third-round appearance in 2019, both conference regular season and tournament titles in 2020, and a string of 10 straight seasons with 10 or more wins (2012-21). Brown has helped lead the Bulls to every NCAA appearance in program history, including two appearances in the second round, and three AAC Championship Game appearances.
As associate head coach, he mentored the program's first All-American and recent USF Athletic Hall of Fame inductee Evelyne Viens, who went on to earn three total All-America honors and an Olympic gold medal with the Canadian National Team at the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo. Goalie Sydney Martinez (2020) and forward Sydny Nasello (2020 and 2021) also earned All-America honors and were among the Bulls that have earned a total of eight AAC Offensive Player of the Year, AAC Midfielder of the Year, AAC Defensive Player of the Year or AAC Goalkeeper of the Year honors. Players he has coached hold every program's individual record and most, if not all, of the top 10 marks in every category.
