Bulls Fall To Mean Green Despite Late Fourth Quarter Surge, 72-65

Tampa, Fla. – Jan. 11, 2025 – South Florida women's basketball (11-7, 4-1 AAC) fell, 72-65, to North Texas (12-5, 4-1 AAC), on Saturday afternoon at the Super Pit in Denton, Texas.
Graduate guard Sammie Puisis led the Bulls with 16 points, which marked her 15th game of the season in double-digits. Senior forward L'or Mputu (14 points, 10 rebounds) added her third double-double of the campaign. Sophomore guard Vittoria Blasigh (15 points) notched her ninth double-digit scoring performance of the season.
Tommisha Lampkin led the Mean Green and all scorers with 29 points.
HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED
Late in the fourth quarter, the Bulls used a 16-0 unanswered scoring surge to cut the 24-point deficit to eight points. Mputu and Blasigh each had five points in the run. Later on in the final minute of action, USF trimmed the Mean Greens lead to as little as five points.
NOTABLE NUMBERS
South Florida welcomes UAB to the Yuengling Center on Tuesday, Jan. 14. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. and the action will stream live on ESPN+.
