TAMPA (January 21, 2025) – The University of South Florida Bulls (3-0) aced their first road test of the spring season with a 5-2 victory at Stetson (0-1) on Monday afternoon. South Florida swept the doubles courts and added four singles wins for the team triumph.
On court 1, Toto Llanes and Tom Pavlekovich-Smith tallied a 6-0 win while Stepan Mruzek and Agustin Cuellar clinched the point with a 6-3 victory on court 2. Ben Hudson and Ettore Danesi owned a 5-4 lead on court 3 before action was halted.
The Hatters evened the team score to begin singles play before Gughi Verdese put the Bulls back in front with a 6-2, 6-3 win on court 5. Elijah Cham padded the lead with a 6-3, 6-4 victory on court 1. Cuellar followed suit on court 2, 7-5, 6-0, and Hudson closed things out with a 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 12-10 thriller on court 6.
