South Florida Sends Miglio and Senli to American Individual Tournament

October 22, 2025

TAMPA, Fla., October 22, 2025 – After great success as a doubles duo at the ITA Southeast Regional Championship, Women's Tennis players Melisa Senli and Francesca Miglio are heading to the 2025 American Individual Tennis Championship, hosted by the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma.

Senli and Miglio's strong performance at regionals earned them their spot at the American Championship after a dominant run through the early rounds of doubles play. The pair opened with an 8-1 victory over FIU, followed by an 8-5 win against Miami. They continued their momentum with a commanding 8-0 sweep of Georgia Tech before ultimately falling in the quarterfinals to Georgia, 1-8. In singles, Senli also picked up a key win over a Miami opponent, showcasing her consistency across both formats.

At the 2025 American Individual Tennis Championship, representatives from 13 women's programs will compete, with each school sending two singles players and one doubles tandem. Competitors will be seeded based on national rankings, with singles matches played best-of-three sets using no-ad scoring and tiebreaks at 6-all.

Doubles contests will be one set to six, also with no-ad scoring and a tiebreak at 6-all.

The singles and doubles champions will advance to represent The American at the ITA Conference Masters Championships, held Nov. 6–9 in San Diego.
