Tyler Richardson scores penalty in the 90th minute to secure Bulls’ victory in Philadelphia
Tampa, Fla., Oct. 24, 2025 — The University of South Florida (8-1-5, 4-1-1) defeated Temple University (1-11-2, 0-6-0) with a 2-1 victory in Philadelphia. Tyler Richardson scored the game-winning goal, converting a penalty in the 90th minute to secure the conference win.
The Bulls opened the first half with an aggressive offensive, testing Temple's goalkeeper with constant shots and pressure. South Florida's defense also held strong, keeping Temple off the scoreboard. The first half ended knotted at 0-0.
South Florida carried its momentum into the second half, striking almost immediately as Brandon Nyagurungo found the back of the net in the 46th minute off an assist from João Belmudes. The Bulls continued to dictate play throughout the half, maintaining control on both ends of the field.
Temple scored in the 86th minute, but South Florida quickly responded. Tyler Richardson scored the game-winning goal, converting a penalty in the 90th minute to secure the 2-1 victory.
