USF Women’s Soccer Faces FAU for Last Match of Regular Season

TAMPA, Fla. (October 29, 2025) – The University of South Florida women's soccer team hosts Florida Atlantic for the final match of the regular season. USF (7-8-2, 3-4-2 American) and FAU (4-11-3, 1-6-2 American) are scheduled to start at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
 
In the Bulls' loss to UAB on Sunday, Selma Åström scored her second collegiate goal, Sadie Sider-Echenberg scored her fifth goal of the season, and Linnea Nestor recorded her second assist of the season. In goal, Gaby Rourke recorded a career-high eight saves and did so in just the second half.
 
USF is seeking an American Conference Tournament berth, and with a win, the Bulls clinch a spot in the bracket. The first round of matches for the tournament begins on Monday, November 3, and all matches will be played in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.

Setting the Stage
Both teams lost on Sunday, with USF falling to UAB 3-2 and FAU losing to North Texas 1-0.

South Florida is 10-8-4 against FAU and is 7-2-3 at home against the Owls. USF won the last match hosted at Corbett Stadium, 2-1, in 2023.

Chris Brown enters his second season as USF head coach after a record-setting debut in 2024, leading the Bulls to 12 wins and coaching both the American Athletic Conference Midfielder of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year. Brown spent 17 years as associate head coach (2007–2023), helping USF to three American Athletic Conference titles, eight NCAA appearances, and a 10-year streak of 10+ win seasons. He coached USF's first All-American, Evelyne Viens, now a Hall of Famer and Olympic gold medalist, and has developed multiple American Athletic Conference award winners. Players under his guidance hold most of the program's records.
