USF Volleyball Defeats North Texas

The Bulls have won 14 straight conference home matches.

TAMPA, Fla. (Oct. 5, 2025) – The University of South Florida volleyball team continued its impressive start to American Athletic Conference play with a 3–1 win over North Texas (25–13, 23–25, 25–21, 25–21) on Sunday afternoon inside The Corral.

With the victory, the Bulls improved to 8–7 overall and remained undefeated in league action at 4–0.

South Florida came out with energy and precision in the opening set, attacking at a .500 clip while limiting North Texas to .179. The Bulls set the tone early with aggressive serving and efficient transition play, building a comfortable lead and closing out the frame with confidence.

North Texas battled back in the second set, capitalizing on extended rallies and timely defense to even the match at one set apiece. USF responded with composure, reestablishing control behind clean passing, smart decision-making, and a strong presence at the net. The Bulls' offense found its rhythm again in the third set, using consistent ball movement and strategic shot placement to pull ahead 2–1.

In the fourth, South Florida maintained its focus and poise. The Bulls controlled the tempo from start to finish, showcasing balance on both sides of the ball. Defensive discipline and blocking proved to be difference-makers, as USF held North Texas in check while executing efficiently in key moments to close out the match.

South Florida finished with a .280 team hitting percentage, 14 total blocks, and a steady serve-receive effort that kept the offense in rhythm. The Bulls have now won four straight conference matches.

Notables

  • Maria Clara Andrade registered her seventh double-double of the season with 15 kills and 10 digs. She also led with four service aces.
  • Imani Hartfield had 10 kills, her third time this season with double-digit kills.
  • Hartfield led the team with seven blocks.
  • Miya Thomas served three aces.
  • The Bulls have now won 14 straight home conference matches.
  • South Florida has won 10 straight regular-season conference matches.

Up Next

South Florida will head back on the road for a pair of matches against Rice and Tulane next weekend. The Bulls will start the weekend in Houston with a 7 p.m. match against Rice. On Sunday, the Bulls will head to New Orleans for a 2 p.m. match against Tulane. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
