USF Women’s Soccer Falls to UTSA on the Road

Selma Åström scored her first career goal in her second-ever collegiate game.
SAN ANTONIO (October 9, 2025) – The University of South Florida women's soccer team headed to Texas for its first of two games in the state on Thursday to face UTSA. The Bulls (6-6-1, 2-2-1 American) lost to the Roadrunners (7-2-5, 3-0-3 American) 2-1.
In the 43rd minute, UTSA took a 1-0 lead when Michelle Polo scored, assisted by Brooklyn Bailey. The Roadrunners kept this lead into halftime.
UTSA extended its lead to 2-0 in the 77th minute, with a goal from Kameron Kloza, assisted by Izzy Lane.
Five minutes later, in the 82nd minute, Selma Åström scored her first career goal in her second-ever collegiate game. Keito Ido was awarded the assist. UTSA would hold on to a 2-1 lead for the remainder of the match.
Leire Herraez Gallach started and played the full 90 minutes in goal for the Bulls. She had four saves on the day.
