TAMPA, Fla. (November 12, 2025) – Head Coach
Ken Eriksen and the University of South Florida softball team will host its annual "33" Game on Friday. South Florida will host Florida Southern, and admission to the game is free.
Throughout Friday's game, fans will have the opportunity to donate to the Alexis Buchman Foundation for Brain Cancer Research. If you cannot attend the game but would like to donate,

"Friday, we once again celebrate the life of Alexis Buchman, who instilled in those who knew her as a loyal daughter, a loyal friend, and a loyal USF Athlete," said Head Coach
Ken Eriksen. She made those around her better. Always smiling and always supportive of others, Alexis made sure everyone else was doing okay during her battle with glioblastoma. Her fight was arduous, but you would never have known it by the way she kept telling me that "everything was peachy".
The 33 game is meant to keep her "aura" alive for the players that walk into our dugout and locker room every year.
I hope to see a supportive crowd on Friday night as we use this game every year to support the "Alexis Buchman Foundation".
Buchman was diagnosed with brain cancer in the fall of 2021 following surgery to remove a brain tumor. Despite her diagnosis and ongoing treatments, she remained an active and inspirational presence within the South Florida Softball program, serving as a student manager through the 2023 season.
Known for her unwavering positivity, resilience, and sense of humor, Buchman was often described as a true friend and a warrior who could bring light to any room. Her strength and spirit united the South Florida Athletics family and the Tampa Bay community, both of whom rallied behind her throughout her fight.
Each year, the softball program and members of the athletics department have taken part in the annual Miles for Moffitt race in her honor. Buchman was recognized with the "Spirit of Moffitt" Award, celebrating her courage and impact. In 2023, she was also honored by the Tampa Bay Sports Commission at the Sneaker Soiree as a Community Hero, recognizing her bravery, perseverance, and the inspiration she provided to so many through her journey.
