USF Football Rolls To Senior Night Win Over Rice, 52-3

Bulls post fourth undefeated home season in program history

TAMPA, FLA. Nov. 29, 2025 – South Florida (9-3, 6-2 American) scored the first 28 points of the game behind dynamic quarterback Byrum Brown, who accounted for five touchdowns on the night, and rolled to a 52-3 victory over Rice (5-7; 2-6) on Senior Night at Raymond James Stadium.

The Bulls posted just the fourth undefeated home season in program history and the first since 2002 as they won all six home games by 27 points or more. South Florida also logged just the sixth nine-win season in program history and a sixth conference win in a season for just the fourth time. The Bulls honored 30 seniors prior to kickoff, several of whom have remaining eligibility and can return.

Quarterback Byrum Brown, among the seniors honored, continued his outstanding campaign as he continued his march toward several program records and became just the 12th player in Football Bowl Subdivision history to post 3,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing in a season. On the night, Brown went 16-of-24 for 275 yards and four touchdowns passing and ran for 104 yards and a touchdown. He broke his own season touchdown record, reaching 28, and posted the 11th 1,000-yard rushing season in program history and the third 4,000 total yard season.

Keshaun Singleton posted his second 100-yard receiving game on the year, catching six passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns as he moved into third all-time in season receiving yards with 877 on the year. The Bulls defensive effort was led by senior linebackers Jhalyn Shuler and Mac Harris who posted seven and five tackles, respectively, and helped hold Rice to 257 total yards.

The Bulls jumped out 14-0 in the first quarter following two Brown touchdown passes to Singleton. The first was a five-yard strike to finish a 68-yard drive. The second Brown floated over the secondary to an open Singleton who made two tacklers miss and raced 47-yards for the score.

The Bulls made it 21-0 when Brown hit Mudia Reuben wide open down the left side and the 6-2, 210-pound receiver broke a tackle and then raced up the sideline for a 60-yard touchdown. The touchdown pass, Brown's third of the game, broke his own single season touchdown pass mark and also made him the USF career leader in 50-yard pass plays with his 19th.

South Florida made it 28-0 when Nykahi Davenport finished a 67-yard drive with a two-yard plunge. Brown's 22-yard run and 34-yard pass to Singleton accounted for most of the yards on the drive. Brown went 8-of-13 for 193 yards and three touchdowns in the first half.

Rice got on the board with a 44-yard field goal to make it 28-3 at the half.

The Bulls used a fake punt and a gain of 15 yards on the play by freshman Tray Kinkle to extend their opening drive of the second half and took a 35-3 lead when Brown hit Jeremiah Koger with seven-yard touchdown pass.

It was all Bulls the rest of the way as they capped the scoring when Gaston Moore, in for Brown at quarterback, hit former walk-on Christian Helms with a three-yard touchdown pass to mark the senior first career catch in his last game.
