USF Women's Basketball Battles To Victory Over LIU

Four Bulls finish with double-digit points

Tampa, Fla. (November 7, 2025) – Graduate guard Edyn Battle led all scorers for the South Florida women's basketball team with 23 points while adding three rebounds and three assists in the 79-72 victory over Long Island University inside the Yuengling Center.
 
The Bulls improve to 2-0 on the year while the Sharks fell to 1-1.
 
The Bulls continued their balance scoring with the second straight game to see four double-digit scorers. While Battle led the way with 23 points, she was joined by graduate guard Katie Davidson who netted 18 points, redshirt junior guard Stefanie Ingram who added 10 points and graduate forward Ines Piper who also added 10 points.
 
In addition to her 10 points, Piper grabbed 10 rebounds for her fifth career double-double.

HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED
In a game of runs, the Bulls stampeded to finishes going in to the half and to close out the game.
 
Starting with a 3-point basket from Katie Davidson at the 2:11 mark in the second quarter, the Bulls closed out the half on a 10-0 run behind scoring from Fatou Diakite, Ines Piper and Edyn Battle. The run continued in to the start of the second half with Battle and L'or Mputu adding another four points to push the overall run to 14-0.
 
South Florida used a strong showing in the fourth quarter to put away the Sharks, outscoring them 22-12. Edyn Battle led the way for the Bulls with 10 points in the quarter, followed by Katie Davidson and Stefanie Ingram each contributing four points apiece.
