BIRMINGHAM, Ala., (Nov. 7, 2025) – The University of South Florida volleyball team battled through four hard-fought sets Friday evening but came up short against UAB, 3-1, inside Bartow Arena. The Bulls fell by scores of 25-19, 15-25, 25-21, and 25-23.
Despite the loss, the night was a memorable one for senior outside hitter
Maria Clara Andrade, who recorded her 1,500th career kill as part of another standout performance. Andrade led the Bulls with 19 kills, hitting .368 while adding nine digs.
South Florida (14-10, 10-3 American) opened strong, taking the first set 25-19 behind efficient attacking and solid blocking, but UAB found its rhythm over the next three frames.
Laila Ivey finished with 11 kills, while
Imani Hartfield and
Arianna Beckham added eight. Setter
Raegan Richardson notched 31 assists and 10 digs for her seventh double-double of the season, and libero
Samiha Foster tallied 12 digs to lead the defense.

American Conference Tournament
South Florida will be the host to the 2025 American Conference Volleyball Tournament, November 21-23, inside the Corral, due to winning the 2024 Regular Season. Head coach Jolene Shepardson enters her sixth season at the helm of her alma mater in 2025. Named head coach on January 8, 2020, Shepardson led the Bulls to a conference championship and the program's last NCAA tournament appearance as a student-athlete in 2002. South Florida won the 2024 AAC regular-season title, earning Jolene Shepardson her first Coach of the Year Honor.
