TAMPA, Fla. (December 2, 2025) – The University of South Florida faced No. 1 and defending NCAA National Champion UConn on Tuesday. The Bulls (5-4) outscored the Huskies (8-0) in the fourth quarter but fell to UConn 85-51.
It was only the fifth time this season that UConn had been outscored in a quarter by its opponents, when South Florida outscored them 22-20. The Bulls had more positives in the third frame, when USF held UConn to just 17 points, tied for the fourth-fewest points in a quarter this season.
L'or produced a solid performance for South Florida with a team-high 12 points. She tied for a team-high seven rebounds.
Carla Brito tied for a team-best seven rebounds to go along with an eight-point effort.
Stefanie Ingram dished out a game-high five assists and has at least three assists in every game this season.
Despite the early deficit, the Bulls continued to fight for all four quarters. South Florida produced a 22-point quarter in the fourth, which was tied for the fourth-most points allowed by UConn in a quarter this season.
Sarah Strong produced a game-high 14 points for the Huskies. Azzi Fudd, who entered the game averaging 19.7 points per contest, was held to 10 points. Blanca Quinonez and Ashlynn Shade added double-digit performances for UConn.
Notables:
• The Bulls outscored the Huskies in the fourth quarter, which was only the fifth time this season that UConn has been outscored in a quarter.
• The 22 points in the fourth quarter are tied for the fourth-most points scored against UConn in a quarter this season.
• The Bulls held the Huskies to 17 points in the third quarter, which was tied for the fourth fewest points scored in a quarter by UConn this season.
