TAMPA, Fla. (December 5, 2025) – The University of South Florida women's basketball team had five players score in double figures on Friday against Houston Christian. The Bulls (6-4) defeated the Huskies (3-4) 91-58 in front of a record attendance of 10,488.
The Bulls improved to 55-4 in non-conference home games, with a winning percentage of 93.1, which is the best in the American and tied for 15th in the NCAA. South Florida is a perfect 46-0 since 2000-01 when scoring at least 90 points. The Bulls are one of 12 DI teams with at least 40 wins without a loss in such games over that period. USF had five players finish in double figures for the first time since Tulsa on February 22, 2023.
L'or Mputu recorded a game-high 17 points as she posted her third-straight game in double digits. She added 12 rebounds for her second double-double of the season.
Kirsten Lewis-Williams produced a season-high 15 points to go along with a season-high two blocks and one assist.
Carla Brito and
Fatou Diakite each finished with 12 points. Diakite tied a career-high three blocks and added seven rebounds. Brito collected three rebounds and one assist.
Stefanie Ingram rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points. She dished out a game-high six assists to go along with three rebounds and two steals.
Ines Piper collected a season-high 10 rebounds.
The game started as a back-and-forth battle. Mputu produced a game-high 10 points in the first quarter as she went 5-for-6 from the field with three offensive rebounds. Davidson added seven points as the Bulls took a 19-16 lead into the second stanza.
HCU took a 24-21 lead, its largest of the night, with 8:49 left in the second quarter. USF was unfazed and responded with a 12-4 run, which extended the Bulls' lead to 38-29, their largest of the first half. South Florida went into the half with a 40-35 lead. The Bulls were down low in the first half with 22 points in the paint.
In the second half, the Bulls picked up the intensity. After the Huskies cut the lead down to 52-45, midway through the third quarter, the Bulls went on a 13-5 run and took a 65-50 lead. HCU scored to make it 65-53 as the game headed into the fourth quarter.
Raina Tomasicka (9) and Brito (8) scored 17 of the 25 points.
South Florida dominated the fourth quarter after the Bulls held the Huskies scoreless for 7:36 of game play. USF allowed just five points in the final frame as they forced six turnovers. In the fourth quarter, the Bulls collected 16 rebounds with 13 of those coming on the defensive end. South Florida blocked three shots and tallied four steals. The Bulls rolled to a 91-58 victory.
