TAMPA, Fla. (Feb. 6, 2025) – The University of South Florida Bulls track and field team is set for a busy weekend of competition, with athletes participating in three meets across two days. The Bulls will compete in events in Gainesville, Florida, Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Boston, Massachusetts, on Friday, Feb. 7, and Saturday, Feb. 8.
On Friday, Feb. 7, the Bulls will split into two groups. The pole vaulters, throwers, and distance runners will head to the Celebration Pointe Classic in Gainesville, Florida, hosted by the Alachua County Sports & Events Center at 9 a.m. ET. At the same time, sprinters, hurdlers, and jumpers will travel to the Harvard Crimson Elite Meet in Cambridge, Massachusetts, hosted by Harvard University. This meet will be broadcast live on ESPN+ starting at 10 a.m. ET. The events at Harvard will feature both field and track competitions throughout the day.
For Friday's field events, the men's high jump will begin at 3 p.m. ET, followed by the men's triple jump at 3:30 p.m. ET. At 5:30 p.m. ET, the women's triple jump and men's long jump will take place. The athletes competing in the field events at Harvard include

On Saturday, Feb. 8, the Bulls will travel from the Harvard meet to the Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invitational at Boston University. The first track event for the Bulls at the Boston meet will be the women's 60-meter hurdles at 11:08 a.m. ET, followed by the men's 60-meter hurdles at 11:20 a.m. ET.
The women's 60-meter dash is scheduled for 11:27 a.m. ET, with the men's 60-meter dash beginning at 11:35 a.m. ET. Later in the day, the women's 200-meter dash will take place at 12:05 p.m. ET, followed by the men's 200-meter dash at 12:15 p.m. ET. Other events include the women's and men's 400-meter dashes, the 500-meter dash, and the women's 800-meter race. Key athletes competing at the Bruce Lehane Invitational include Saminu-Abdul Rasheed,

In addition to the individual events, the Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invitational will feature both the men's and women's "A" and "B" 4x400-meter relay teams, with the women's relay scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET and the men's relay set to begin at 6:55 p.m. ET.
The field events at Boston will include the men's high jump at 11 a.m. ET, with athletes
Javell Brown and Mosley, as well as the women's long jump at 11 a.m. ET, where Evatt will compete.

Goodness Iredia was named the American Athletic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week following his record-breaking performance at last week's PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational. Additionally, his long jump performance earned him a nationally qualifying ranking, placing 10th.
-The men's pole vault group (Babin, Bitter, Pochopien, Kreiss) earned a national ranking of 10th place for their event.
-Abdul-Rasheed ranked 12
th in the nation in the 60m dash event this week for his performance at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational.

Fresh Faces: Tyra Thomas (8.31) and
Doris Quainoo (8.39) cracked the Bulls top 10 list for the first time in the 60m hurdle event. Additionally,
Nischa King added her face to the long jump list, ranking eighth on the Bulls top 10 list (5.90m | 19' 4.25"). Lastly,
Andrew Marello saw his name added to 10
th place on the Bulls top 10 list in the Mile event.
ABOUT USF TRACK AND FIELD
The USF men's track and field team claimed both the 2024 Indoor and Outdoor AAC Championships. This past season, 10 Bulls athletes earned All-American honors:

Markel Jones winning the 2024 AAC Indoor Freshman of the Year award, and Jaleel Coral being named the 2024 AAC Indoor Most Valuable Performer. The coaching team also received high honors, earning the 2024 AAC Indoor Staff of the Year award. USF boasts a remarkable track record, with 56 All-America selections and at least one All-American honoree in 10 of the past 12 years. Shaniya Benjamin set a program milestone by earning three All-American honors during the 2021 outdoor season, while triple jumper Matthew O'Neal, a 2016 graduate, became USF's first six-time NCAA All-American. USF has also seen two NCAA runner-up finishes since 2013: O'Neal (triple jump, 2016) and Courtney Anderson (high jump, 2013). Head coach
Erik Jenkins, who took the reins in July 2019, guided the team to seven program records and 40 top-10 all-time program marks during the 2021 outdoor season. Additionally, USF has hosted significant events at its Track and Field Stadium, including the 2018 NCAA East Preliminary and the 2021 and 2023 AAC Outdoor Championships.
