IRVING, Texas, March 17, 2025 – The American Athletic Conference announced its weekly accolades on Monday. The University of South Florida softball team completed the sweep as
Camille Ortiz-Martinez earned the honor of AAC Player of the Week.
Payton Dixon was named the AAC Pitcher of the Week.
Ortiz-Martinez, the junior catcher, put together an impressive stat line for the week, which led to her first AAC Player of the Week accolade. She started all four games she appeared in. At the plate, she went 6-for-11 with three doubles and a two-run home run. She scored three runs and drove in two runs. For the week, she produced a .545 batting average, a .643 on-base percentage, and a 1.091 slugging percentage. Defensively, she posted a perfect fielding percentage of 1.000 with 24 putouts.
Redshirt junior Dixon was lights out in the circle for the Bulls. She posted a 2-0 record with a stellar 0.91 ERA and tossed two complete games. The first was eight innings against Central Michigan during the week, while the second was against Charlotte. She tallied 15.1 innings in the circle for the week with 10 strikeouts and only walked two batters. She surrendered two earned runs. She held opposing hitters to a .148 batting average.

South Florida will travel to Stetson on Wednesday, March 19, for a doubleheader. Game one between the Bulls and Hatters is scheduled for 3 p.m., while game two is slated for a 5:30 p.m. first pitch.
