South Florida Softball Adds Taitumn Reynen to 2026 Class
July 01, 2026 | Softball
TAMPA, Fla. (July 1, 2026) – Head Coach Ken Eriksen and the University of South Florida softball team announced the addition of Taitumn Reynen to the 2026 recruiting class.
Reynen is a proven winner at both the collegiate and international levels. She arrives in Tampa after two standout seasons at Salt Lake Community College and an accomplished international career representing Canada.
"Taitumn Reynen is a multi-dimensional athlete who plays middle infield," said Coach Eriksen. "Her international experience and competitiveness make her a well-suited player for us. As a left-handed hitter, she is a triple threat with speed. An on-base player who will continue to help our offense improve."
Reynen has been a member of the Canadian Junior National Team, helping Canada win a silver medal at an international competition in Colombia. Her international resume also includes a gold medal at the Canadian Summer Games, a gold medal at the Canadian National Championships, silver medals at both the Canadian National Championships and the Canadian Junior National Championships, and three provincial championship titles.
At Salt Lake Community College, Reynen established herself as one of the region's top hitters. In 2026, she earned All-Region 18 first team honors and was named to the all-tournament team after batting .430. As a freshman in 2025, she was named a Second Team All-Star and earned All-Academic recognition after batting .400.
Her success extended beyond the collegiate game. Reynen was named the Top Batter at the 2025 Canadian National Championship and the All-Star Shortstop at the Women's International Championship. She excelled in some of the biggest moments on the national stage, batting .682 during Canada's gold medal run at the 2025 Canadian Summer Games and hitting .588 at the Canadian National Championships, where her team captured silver.
Reynen's blend of offensive production, defensive versatility and championship experience adds another impactful piece to the Bulls roster as USF prepares for the upcoming season.
With success against elite competition in both North America and internationally, Reynen brings a proven track record of winning and a dynamic skill set to the South Florida infield.
