FORT MYERS, FL., MARCH 19, 2025 – University of South Florida baseball (11-8; 0-0 AAC) defeated the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles (8-13; 1-2 ASUN) to complete the season sweep on Wednesday night in Fort Myers. The Bulls won with a final score of 11-5.

The six-run difference is the Bulls' largest margin of victory since they won 16-7 on March 22, 2022.

Jackson Mayo and
Stewart Puckett started the second inning with back-to-back singles. A balk by the Eagles pitcher allowed the runners to advance.
Marcus Brodil doubled to left center to clear the bases and give South Florida the early lead.
Matthew Buffington brought Brodil home on an RBI double.

The Bulls added another run in the third inning on a sacrifice fly from Mayo. The Eagles made it a one-run game with a three-run double in the bottom half of the third inning.

The Bull's bats continued, adding two more runs in the fourth inning. Lohry and Brodil led off the inning with a walk and a single. A sacrifice bunt from Buffington put runners in scoring position.
Carlos Jacome got his first RBI of the game with a ground out.
Ryan Pruitt's single added the sixth run for South Florida.

South Florida produced a four-run sixth inning. The Bulls loaded the bases with two singles and a walk that forced the Eagles to make a call to the Bullpen. Jacome hit an RBI single to grow the lead and keep the bases loaded. Pruitt and
Sebastian Greico reached on a fielder's choice, but three runs still crossed the plate.

Mayo capped off the scoring with his 25
th career home run. He is now four away from tying Scott Hemond and Bob Ribinski for career home runs.

Matt Goldenbaum earned the first start of his career. In 2.0 innings, he held the Eagles hitless and struck out one batter.
