TAMPA, Fla., April 11, 2025 – The University of South Florida softball team started Alumni Weekend on Friday against Tulsa inside the USF Softball Stadium. The Bulls (31-12-1, 10-5-1) relied on plate discipline and solid pitching as they defeated the Golden Hurricane (18-22, 6-10) 6-1.

Wilkes started the home half of the fourth inning with a lead-off single through the left side. After Josie Foreman moved Wilkes to second on a sac bunt, Rivera gave the Bulls runners on the corners with a single to third base. Grace Chin entered the game as a pinch runner and then stole second. Chin tied the game on a wild pitch with two outs. Jamia Nelson singled up the middle to give South Florida a 2-1 lead.
DaNia Brooks, Garcia-Soto, Olivia Elliott, and Galligani drew four consecutive walks, which led to two USF runs. Wilkes lined a 2-2 pitch into center field and put the Bulls on top 5-1 after four innings of play.
Garcia-Soto drew a one-out walk in the bottom of the sixth inning. After a ground out moved Garcia-Soto to second, Galligani delivered with an RBI single to left field. The Bulls went on to win 6-1.
