TAMPA, APRIL 28, 2025 – The University of South Florida baseball team (24-17, 12-6 American) will wrap up its five-game road stand with a midweek game against the Stetson Hatters (29-16, 18-3 ASUN) on Tuesday night in DeLand. The first pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
South Florida still holds second place in the AAC standings. The Bulls are three games behind the UTSA Roadrunners (15-3). The Bulls have a one-game lead on Charlotte and a two-game lead on Florida Atlantic, Tulane, and East Carolina.
Setting The Stage:
The Bulls are coming off a 2-1 series win at Wichita State. South Florida took game one of the series, 4-1, then fell 7-5 on Saturday. The Bulls clinched the series dominatingly, defeating the Shockers 13-4.

Austin Newton and RHP
Jack Nedrow made career appearances over the weekend. On Saturday, Newton pitched a career-high 4.2 innings while striking out a career-high five batters. On Sunday, Nedrow matched a career-high of eight innings pitched.
Last week,
Carlos Jacome led the team with two doubles, two triples, 13 total bases, and four walks. He went 2-2 on stolen base attempts. Jacome was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll.
Series History:
The Bulls and Hatters have met 185 times, with Stetson narrowly holding a 94-91 lead in the all-time series. Stetson took the matchup earlier this month, 3-1, at The Red. In DeLand, Stetson holds a 46-41 lead in the series.
Note-A-Bull:
- 1B Sebastian Greico has hit 13 home runs this season, leading the American Conference. He has a team-leading 41 RBI.
- INF Stewart Puckett's pinch-hit home run on Sunday was the first one since Bobby Boser hit one against Bethune-Cookman on March 29, 2022.
- OF Marcus Brodil has reached base in seven straight games. In conference play, he has reached base in all 18 games.
- OF Ryan Pruitt stole four bases last week, with two coming on Sunday. Pruitt has stolen a team-leading 17 bases this season.
