BOCA RATON, Fla., April 4, 2025 – The University of South Florida softball team returned to action on Friday for game one of a three-game series at Florida Atlantic. The Bulls (29-11-1, 8-4-1) fell to the Owls (33-2, 12-1) 8-0 inside FAU Stadium.
Alexa Galligani and
Kathy Garcia-Soto each recorded a hit for South Florida. Galligani extended her hitting streak to three games and has reached safely in six straight games. Garcia-Soto extended her hitting streak to three games.
Payton Dixon got the start in the circle and went 2.0 innings. She gave up three runs, two of which were earned.
Anne Long added 2.2 innings in relief. She surrendered five runs, but only one was earned.
Florida Atlantic scored one run on no hits in the home half of the first. The Owls added two runs in the bottom of the second. FAU extended its lead to 8-0 and ended the game in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Autumn Courtney threw a complete game for the Owls. She improved to 16-1 and tallied four strikeouts. Kylie Hammonds recorded a game-high two hits for FAU.
