TAMPA, Fla., August 21, 2025 – The University of South Florida men's soccer team (0-0-1) and Saint Louis (0-0-1) played to a scoreless draw on Thursday evening at Robert R. Hermann Stadium, with both teams' defenses holding firm throughout the match.
This game marked the season opener for the USF Bulls, setting the stage for their campaign with a solid defensive performance.
The first half opened with
Jahiem Wickham establishing his presence as the goalie for South Florida. The Bulls managed to create offensive opportunities, highlighted by a shot from
Kyle Hunnicutt in the seventh minute and another attempt by
Jakob Auby just before halftime. Wickham was pivotal in maintaining a scoreless draw, making a crucial save against Drake Fournier's shot to keep the game level heading into the break.
The second half began with both teams making several lineup adjustments. Notably, Wickham played a key role in the defensive efforts, saving multiple shots from the Billikens, including crucial saves in the 51st and 80th minutes, maintaining a clean sheet for South Fla. Despite a late shot attempt by
Luka Zujovic in the 85th minute, which was saved, the half ended without any changes to the scoreboard, resulting in a 0-0 draw for the match.
