
Bulls Battle Back with Late Goal in 1-1 Draw during Home Opener at Al Lang Stadium

Fabio Bozesan scores equalizer in 74th minute as South Florida holds off UNC Greensboro behind key saves from Jahiem Wickham.
TAMPA, Fla., August 28, 2025 – The University of South Florida men's soccer team (1-0-2) and UNC Greensboro (2-0-1) played to a 1-1 draw on Thursday evening at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Fla.
This match marked a special occasion for South Fla., as it was their home opener played away from their normal venue, Corbett Stadium in Tampa, Fla.
The first half saw a strong defensive performance from the Bulls, assisted by goalkeeper Jahiem Wickham's save in the 18th minute on a shot from the Spartans' Issah Haruna.
Pedro Faife recorded the home side's only shot of the half at the 27th minute, and the team earned two corner kicks late in the half. The score remained tied at 0-0 entering the break.
The second half began with South Fla. aggressively pushing forward, immediately securing a corner kick just after the restart. Despite some defensive challenges, including multiple fouls, Wickham made key saves against shots at 58' and 67', keeping the Bulls in contention.
The team leveled the score at 1-1 with a goal in the 74th minute, following a period of sustained pressure highlighted by Fabio Bozesan's active shooting efforts, including attempts on goal at 70' and 90'.
