USF Women’s Soccer Scores Six in Victory over Grambling State

This is the first time since 2019 that USF has scored more than four goals in back-to-back games.

TAMPA, Fla. (September 14, 2025) – Senior Day was a day of celebration, as the University of South Florida dominated Grambling State in a 6-0 victory. Five different players scored goals as the Bulls (5-4, 1-0 American), defeated the Tigers (2-5-2, 0-0 SWAC) in a thrilling performance Sunday. USF extended its winning streak to four matches.
 
Sadie Sider-Echenberg, Keito Ido, Hedda Ornberg, Macy Felton, and Mia Rodach recorded the goals for the Bulls. This is the first time since 2019 that USF has scored more than four goals in back-to-back games.
 
In the 19th minute, Sider-Echenberg got the Bulls on the board first with a strike to the upper 90 from outside the box. Gentiana Fetaj was awarded the assist, as USF went into the half up 1-0.
 
Yui Suetsugu sent a ball into the box. Ornberg headed it to Ido, who snuck in a shot near the far post. Her goal gave the Bulls a 2-0 lead.
 
After a crossing pass around the near side from Fetaj, Ornberg pocketed a shot into the near post in the 56th minute. USF took a 3-0 lead over Grambling.
 
Just three minutes later in the 59th minute, Ornberg scored again. Sider-Echenberg had a cross from the near side, that Ornberg buried into the net from the far post, now giving the Bulls a 4-0 lead.
 
In the 76th minute, Felton recorded her first career goal and was assisted by Maliya Maldonado. She headed the ball directly from the Maldonado corner kick, as USF went up 5-0.
 
Rodach celebrated with a backflip after scoring a right-footed goal from a Linnea Nestor crossing pass. South Florida took a 6-0 lead, went on to win by the same score.
 
Leire Herraez Gallach got the start in net for the Bulls. She played all 90 minutes. She got the win and improved to 3-3 on the season.
 
Notables
• This is the first time since 2019 that USF has scored more than four goals in back-to-back games.
• The Bulls have scored a goal in 14 of the last 17 matches, including last season.
Macy Felton recorder her first career goal
Hedda Ornberg scored two goals separated by three minutes and 31 seconds.
• Senior Sadie Sider-Echenberg scored from outside the box on Senior Day and now has three goals on the season.
• Senior Keito Ido scored on Senior Day for her first goal at USF.
• This is the most goals against a D1 opponent USF has scored since September 8, 2016.
• This was the first meeting between these two teams.
 
Next Up
South Florida plays in Corbett Stadium again Thursday night against East Carolina. USF and ECU are scheduled for a 7 p.m. start on ESPN+ as the Bulls will seek their second conference win of the season.
