USF Women’s Soccer Wins Fifth Match in a Row

The Bulls have scored a goal in 15 of the last 18 matches, including last season.

TAMPA, Fla. (September 18, 2025) – The University of South Florida defeated East Carolina, 1-0, for the Bulls second American Conference win of the season. Yui Suetsugu was the only goal scorer of the match as the Bulls (6-4, 2-0 American), defeated the Pirates (3-4-2, 1-1 American) in a tight match Thursday inside Corbett Stadium. USF is now on a five-match winning streak.
 
Suetsugu's first goal of the season came in the 10th minute, assisted by Gentiana Fetaj. She solidly struck the ball with her right foot into the upper 90 of the far post. The Bulls claimed a 1-0 victory.

 
Gaby Rourke started and played the full 90 minutes in goal for the Bulls. She made two saves and earned her first clean sheet of the season. She got the win, improving to 2-1-0 on the season.

Next Up
South Florida heads to No. 9 Memphis next week on Thursday Sept. 25. The match is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN+ as USF will seek their third conference win of the season.

Brown spent 17 years as associate head coach (2007–2023), helping USF to three American Athletic Conference titles, eight NCAA appearances, and a 10-year streak of 10+ win seasons. He coached USF's first All-American, Evelyne Viens, now a Hall of Famer and Olympic gold medalist, and has developed multiple American Athletic Conference award winners. Players under his guidance hold most of the program's records.
