TAMPA, September 18, 2025 – The University of South Florida volleyball team will head to Omaha, Nebraska, for a trio of matches to close out its non-conference slate this Friday through Sunday.

The Bulls will start the weekend at the Omaha Mavs for a Friday night match at 7 p.m. South Florida will then head to Creighton for the Creighton Classic. On Saturday, the Bulls and No. 18 Bluejays will go head-to-head at 4 p.m. South Florida will close out the weekend with an 11 a.m. match against No. 17 Kansas.

Setting The Stage:
The Bulls (3-5) are coming off their first road win of the season against Dayton in a heated five-set match (29-27, 19-25, 16-25, 25-18, 27-25). This was the Bulls first win over the Flyers in program history, changing the all-time record to 1-3.

Series History:
The Bulls will be facing off against Omaha (3-4) for the first time in program history. South Florida is 0-2 against Creighton (5-5) with their last matchup being over a decade ago. While the Bulls are facing off against Kansas for the first time since 1992 where they lost.

Note-A-Bull:
Maria Clara Andrade leads the team with 105 kills on the season, followed by 80 kills by
Arianna Beckham and 62 kills by
Addy Brus.
Raegan Richardson leads with 200 assists on the season followed by
Sarah White who holds 104. Richardson also leads with 11 service aces this season followed by Andrade and Brus who both have recorded nine.
Samiha Foster leads the team in digs recording 117, followed by Andrade with 79 and Brus with 65.
Iyanna Garvin and
Imani Hartfield are tied with 19 blocks each, followed by
Taelyn Bentley who has 18.

This will be the last slate of non-conference matches before the Bulls return home to host start conference play with Florida Atlantic and ECU.

Head coach Jolene Shepardson enters her sixth season at the helm of her alma mater in 2025. Named head coach on January 8, 2020, Shepardson led the Bulls to a conference championship and the program's last NCAA tournament appearance as a student-athlete in 2002. South Florida won the 2024 AAC regular-season title, earning Jolene Shepardson her first Coach of the Year Honor. In 2023, the Bulls won the AAC East Division title, made a postseason appearance in the NIVC, won three matches, and advanced to the Fab Four to mark the longest postseason run in program history. South Florida Volleyball has won eight Player of the Year honors, most recently in Maria Clara Andrade in 2024. The Bulls have also had four Setter of the Year honors, most recently in Caroline Dykes in 2024. South Florida has made seven NCAA Tournament appearances and won 13 conference titles since its inception in 1972. The Bulls play in The Corral (1,000), located adjacent to the Yuengling Center on the USF campus in Tampa.
