USF Women’s Soccer Falls to No. 11 Memphis on the Road

Gaby Rourke set a career high with six saves in goal for the Bull.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (September 25, 2025) – The University of South Florida women's soccer team was back on the road for an American Conference matchup with No. 11 Memphis. The Bulls (6-5, 2-1 American) fell to the Tigers (8-0-2, 2-0-1 American) 3-0 on Thursday in Memphis.
 
In the first half, the Bulls put a lot of pressure on the Tigers. South Florida forced Memphis to concede four corner kicks in the opening stanza. Defensively, the Bulls limited the Tigers' chances.
 
All three Memphis goals came in the second half: Alex Mackay scored in the 56th minute, assisted by Flavie Dubé; Ashley Henderson found the net in the 70th minute; and Ai Kitagawa scored in the 85th minute, assisted by Mihiro Furuya.
 
Gaby Rourke set a career high of six saves in goal for the Bulls, starting and playing the full 90 minutes in goal. Gentiana Fetaj, Brooke Fabri, and Maya Hindson each produced a shot on goal for USF.

Next Up

Chris Brown enters his second season as USF head coach after a record-setting debut in 2024, leading the Bulls to 12 wins and coaching both the American Athletic Conference Midfielder and Goalkeeper of the Year. Brown spent 17 years as associate head coach (2007–2023), helping USF to three American Athletic Conference titles, eight NCAA appearances, and a 10-year streak of 10+ win seasons. He coached USF's first All-American, Evelyne Viens, now a Hall of Famer and Olympic gold medalist, and has developed multiple American Athletic Conference award winners. Players under his guidance hold most of the program's records.
