USF Volleyball Sinks Pirates on Friday Night

The Bulls have won 13 straight conference home matches.

TAMPA, September 26, 2025 – The University of South Florida volleyball team handled its second American Athletic Conference test on Friday night, downing East Carolina, 3–1, at The Corral.

The Bulls controlled the opening frame, weathered a tight second set, then reasserted momentum to close out the match, 25–12, 23–25, 25–16, 25–15.

USF set the tone early with a dominant first set built on serve pressure, first-ball sideouts, and timely blocking. ECU clawed back to even the match in set two, but the Bulls answered after the break—stringing together scoring runs behind steady passing and disciplined transition play to take the third and fourth sets comfortably.

Backed by an energetic home crowd of 718, South Florida's defense at the net and poise in serve-receive repeatedly flipped rallies and stymied ECU's rhythm. The Bulls closed the night with a comprehensive final frame, sealing the win on a service-point finish after sustained sideout efficiency.
