TAMPA, Fla., September 29, 2025 – The University of South Florida Women's Tennis Team wrapped up competition at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic this weekend with a resilient showing highlighted by key victories in singles and doubles. Securing strong results throughout the weekend, including 9 wins, the Bulls finished the tournament going undefeated against Power 4 competition on the third day.
In singles play, senior Melisa Senli began with a bye, then played Jacobson from UW Madison, where she lost 4-6, 7-6 (8-6), 2-10. She then came back with a win against Navy in consolation. Charlotte Ruud fell short in her match to Ball State's Tanjuatco 0-6, 6-3, 4-10, while junior Francesca Miglio lost to Arkansas States' Muro Castellvi 2-6, 6-4, 5-10 before bouncing back with a win over Kansas State in Saturday's consolation match. Sienna Leeson opened with a bye and then came up short against Lipscomb's Dominguez Collado 4-6, 4-6.
In doubles, Senli and Leeson advanced with a bye before losing to Purdue 4-6, but rebounded with a victory over the Boilermakers in consolation on Saturday. Miglio and Ruud picked up momentum with a 6-4 win over Arkansas States' Muro Castellvi/Cvanciger and another 6-4 win against Western Michigan's Weijerman/Glantz, before a narrow 4-6 loss to Ball State's Tanjuatco/Shabaz.
Overall, the Bulls closed out their weekend with toughness across the slate. Highlighted by wins against Purdue and Kansas State, the Bulls left undefeated by Power 4 on the third day.

Head coach Cristina Moros, a former collegiate national champion and four-time All-American, is in her 11th year at the helm entering the 2025-26 season. She was named the 2017 AAC Coach of the Year after leading the Bulls to the conference championship that season.
