USF Volleyball Defeats South Carolina on Sunday

The Bulls went 2-0 in the South Florida Invitational.

TAMPA, Sept. 7, 2025 – The University of South Florida volleyball team earned a hard-fought 3–1 win (20–25, 25–23, 25–16, 27–25) over South Carolina on Sunday afternoon at The Corral. The victory pushes the Bulls to 2–3 on the season.

After dropping the opening frame, USF battled back with a gritty second-set performance, holding off a late Gamecock rally to even the match. The Bulls then seized control in the third set, hitting .300 as a team while limiting South Carolina to a negative attack percentage to secure a comfortable 25–16 win.

The fourth set provided a dramatic finish in front of 885 fans, with both sides trading points deep into extra play. USF remained steady and converted at the net in the closing moments, sealing the match with a 27–25 decision to cap the victory.

The Bulls out-blocked the Gamecocks 9–6 and held their SEC opponent to a .192 hitting percentage. Offensively, USF posted 60 kills and a .336 hitting clip while maintaining pressure at the service line.
