BOCA RATON, Fla. (January 24, 2026) –
Stefanie Ingram carried the team on her back with 12 fourth-quarter points to erase a 14-point deficit against Florida Atlantic on Saturday. The Bulls (12-9, 5-3 American) fell to the Owls (9-11, 3-5 American) in the final seconds, 64-63.
Ingram produced a team-high 17 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter. It was her 11th game in double figures. She tied a career high with two blocks, along with two steals, one rebound, and one assist.
Katie Davidson finished with 11 points, two rebounds, two assists, one block, and one steal. It was her 13th game in double digits.
Edyn Battle closed out the double-digit scorers with 10 points. It was her 12th game in double figures. She grabbed four rebounds and dished out one assist.
Carla Brito tallied a game-high 11 rebounds, her fourth game with double-digit rebounds. She was one point shy of a double-double with nine. She chipped in with three assists and one steal.
How It Happened
The game began as a defensive battle, with the score tied at 4-4 with just under four minutes left in the first quarter. The Owls outscored the Bulls 8-5 for the rest of the first quarter and held a 12-9 lead after one quarter.
South Florida started the second quarter fast, scoring the first six points and taking a 15-12 lead. The two squads scored eight points apiece for the rest of the quarter. The Bulls took a 25-24 lead into halftime. At the break, Battle had a game-high eight points, while Brito had a game-high five rebounds.
Florida Atlantic opened the third quarter with a 16-4 run. After a USF timeout, the Bulls scored five unanswered points to close the deficit to 40-34 with 4:25 left in the third. FAU held USF scoreless for the rest of the third and took a 48-34 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Bulls got the offense rolling to start the fourth quarter with a 12-5 run. Ingram scored eight of the 12 USF points as South Florida cut the deficit to seven, 53-46, with six minutes left in regulation. The Bulls kept fighting back, and a huge 3-pointer by Brito cut the gap to 62-59.
Ines Piper made a driving layup to cut the deficit to one, 62-61, with just over a minute left in regulation. Piper recorded a steal that led to a fast-break layup for Davidson, which put the Bulls up 63-62 with 33 seconds on the clock.
FAU's Erin Rodgers came into the game for an injured player and made two free throws to give the Owls a lead with 5.0 seconds left. The Bulls used their last timeout to advance the ball to the front court and set up a play for the game winner. USF was unable to get a shot off because of a turnover that gave FAU a 64-63 win.
