TAMPA, Fla. (February 10, 2026) –
Alexa Galligani posted a perfect 1.000 batting average for the University of South Florida softball team on Tuesday against Delaware. The USF bats erupted, producing 23 hits as the Bulls (4-3) shut out the Blue Hens (1-5) 7-0 and 8-0 (6) inside the USF Softball Stadium.
Galligani led the charge with a 5-for-5 day at the plate. She scored four runs, had two doubles, and drove in two runs. She also drew two walks and was hit by a pitch.
Karhys Pierce and
Alex Wilkes each had four hits on the day. Pierce and Wilkes each had three RBIs to lead the team over the two games. Wilkes extended her hitting streak to four games and has reached base safely in five straight games.
Olivia Elliott has extended her streak of reaching base safely to six games.
Game One: South Florida 7, Delaware 0
The Bulls erupted for five runs in the home half of the first inning. Wilkes drove in a run with a single to third base. South Florida added two more runs on a throwing error by the third baseman.
Kiley Strott grounded out but picked up an RBI as
Jamia Nelson scored from third base. Pierce doubled to right center, putting the Bulls up 5-0 after one inning.
Wilkes extended the USF lead to 6-0 in the home half of the fourth inning with an RBI single up the middle. Galligani drove in the final run of the game with a single off the pitcher. The Bulls went on to win the game 7-0.
Anne Long got the start in the circle and was outstanding. She went six innings in the winning effort. She improved to 1-1 on the season. She struck out six batters and scattered three hits.
Carley Ernst closed out the game with one inning of relief. She struck out one batter and did not allow a hit.
Game Two: South Florida 8, Delaware 0
Lexi Beldowicz recorded her first collegiate hit, an RBI double to left center, in the second inning. The Bulls held a 1-0 lead after two innings.
Toryn Fulton recorded a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third inning. Pierce followed with a single down the left-field line, extending the USF lead to 3-0.
Galligani got the scoring started in the home half of the fourth with a double to left center. Wilkes added another RBI with a single to right center. The Bulls held a 5-0 lead after four innings were in the books.
Nelson moved the Bulls one run closer to a run-rule victory when she drove in two runs with a double to left center. Three batters later, Pierce tallied her third RBI of the day with a triple down the left-field line. South Florida forced the run rule and won 8-0 in six innings.
