USF Men’s Basketball Hits Road to Play Florida Atlantic

Bulls sit alone at No. 1 in the American Conference entering Sunday contest.

TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 13, 2026 – The University of South Florida men's basketball team (17–8, 9-3) continues American Conference play on Sunday, traveling to Boca Raton, Florida, to take on Florida Atlantic University (14-11, 6-6) at 2:00 p.m.

Program Comparison
The Bulls enter this game with a KenPom rating of 60, BPI of 68, and NET ranking of 58. The Owls have a KenPom rating of 115, BPI of 114, and NET ranking of 114.

South Florida is No. 1 in the American Conference standings, and Florida Atlantic sits at No. 8.

South Florida ranks No. 1 in the American in four team stat categories, including points per game (89.0), while Florida Atlantic ranks third in the conference (81.0).

South Florida also leads the conference in rebounds per game (42.6), offensive rebounds (15.3) and assists (17.44).

Series History
Saturday marks the 21st all-time meeting, and second this season between South Florida and Florida Atlantic. The teams last met on Jan. 25, 2026 at the Yuengling Center, where the Bulls defeated the Owls 89-75.

Last Time Out
On a three-game win streak, South Florida sits No. 1 in the conference after wins over UTSA and Tulsa to tie for first, then a Wednesday night victory against Wichita State to move into sole possession of the league lead.

South Florida men's basketball named Bryan Hodgson, 37, as the program's 12th head coach on March 24, 2025. Hodgson came to Tampa from Arkansas State, where he led the program to back-to-back 20-win seasons and its first postseason appearance since 1999 in his two seasons at the helm.
 
The program, entering its 55th season in 2025-26, most recently won the American Athletic Conference regular season championship in 2023-24 and has made 13 postseason appearances, including three NCAA Tournaments, nine NITs, and a CBI championship in 2019. Three former Bulls – Chucky Atkins, Charlie Bradley, and Rodenko Dobras – have had their jerseys retired and are members of the USF Athletic Hall of Fame. The Bulls play their home games at the 10,400-seat Yuengling Center on the USF Tampa campus.
