USF Women’s Basketball Earns 20-Point Win Against Florida Atlantic, 75-55

Carla Brito Records Her Sixth Straight Double-Double

TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 21, 2026 – The South Florida women's basketball team (17-11, 10-5 American) earned a 20-point victory against Florida Atlantic (12-15, 6-9 American), 75-55, on Saturday night at the Yuengling Center.
 
Carla Brito recorded 10 points and 14 rebounds for her sixth straight double-double, the second-longest streak by a USF player since the 1999-2000 season. The senior added six assists and now has nine double-doubles this season.
   
L'or Mputu led the Bulls with 17 points in just 21 minutes, shooting 8-for-10 from the field. Edyn Battle added 16 points, six rebounds, and a block, and Stefanie Ingram finished with 15 points and nine assists. Ines Piper tied her season-high with three blocks.
   
How it Happened
The Bulls got off to a strong start in the first quarter, as L'or Mputu led with eight points. South Florida did not allow any points in the last 4:36 in the opening period and did not allow a basket until the 9:03 mark of the second quarter.
 
FAU went without a made field goal from 8:31 to 0:35 in the second quarter, a span of 7:56. USF used that stretch to put together a 12-3 run.
 
Lana Vukcevic recorded the first field goal of her collegiate career on a layup at the 4:06 mark.
   
The Owls closed the half on a 5-0 run in the final 35 seconds, but the Bulls took a 34-19 lead at halftime. FAU shot just 20% from the field in the first half.
 
South Florida carried its momentum into the second half, continuing to dictate tempo while forcing Florida Atlantic to play from behind. The Bulls never allowed the lead to drop below 12 the rest of the game. Edyn Battle led USF with 11 second-half points, marking her third consecutive game with double-digit second-half scoring.

  • History in the American Conference - South Florida won its tenth conference game of the season, marking the 12th time in 13 seasons the program reached double-digit conference victories in the American Conference.
  • Efficient Shooting - USF recorded a 53.6% field goal percentage against FAU, which is the highest in conference play so far this season and third-highest overall.
  • Lockdown Defense – FAU shot only 20% from the field in the first half and 32.2% for the game.
  • Dominant Against FAU at Home – In six of the last seven meetings at home, USF has beaten FAU by at least 20 points. The Bulls are 7-0 at home in 2026.
