USF Beach Volleyball Falls to No.7 TCU and No.16 UNF to Close Out Seminole Beach Bash

Bulls drop two matches on Saturday at Seminole Beach Bash

Tallahassee, Fla., February 28, 2026 – South Florida wrapped up competition at the Seminole Beach Bash with a pair of tough match ups, falling to No.7 TCU 5-0 and No.16 North Florida, 3-2. 
 
South Florida 0, TCU 5
The Horned Frogs struck first on court four as Anna Long and Marcela Mattoso defeated Sasha Pasloski and Bella Almedia, 21-9, 21-15. TCU quickly followed with another point on court 5, giving TCU a 2-0 lead. 
 
On court 2, Cornelia Crudu and Julia Panko pushed their first set to extra points, but fell just short, 20-22, before dropping the second set 13-21. The win extended the Horned Frogs advantage to 3-0 and clinched the team match. The most tightly contested match up came on court three, where Abigail Lagemann and Morgan Anderson forced a third set before falling 17-21, 21-19,12-15. 
 
 
South Florida 2, North Florida 3
South Florida squared off with No. 16 North Florida, falling in a tightly contested 3-2 dual. USF struck early on court 5, where Tereza Lajkebová and Kate Stewart delivered a dominant 21-8, 21-12 win to give the Bulls the opening point. North Florida responded with victories on courts four and two to take a 2-1 lead. 
 
On court one, Zoey Mitchell and Josephine Sek battled in a competitive straight-set match but fell 21-23, 19-22, allowing the Ospreys to clinch the dual. Panko and Crudu closed out the match on a high note for South Florida, earning a three-set victory 21-18,16, -21 15-9 on court three. 

 
Note-A-Bulls:
  • Top Court Point — Panko /Crudu secured a win over No.16 North Florida.
  • Tightly contested match up — Lagemann and Anderson forced a third set against TCU before falling 21-17, 21-19,15-12. 
  • Opening Point—Lajkebová and Stewart put on a dominant performance on court five defeating No.16 North Florida 21-8, 21-12 to give the Bulls the opening point. 
 
UP NEXT
The Bulls will stay close to home as they travel to the University of Tampa for the Tampa Beach Brawl. They are set to face off against Tampa, Barry, PBA, and Eckerd.

Pri Piantadosi-Lima was named South Florida's first-ever beach volleyball head coach on June 6, 2023. She also serves as the head coach of USAV Beach and the national team development program and was honored as the 2022 USA Volleyball Female Junior Coach of the Year. Before joining South Florida, Piantadosi-Lima helped launch the Eckerd College program in 2015 as an assistant coach and helped lead the program to its first AVCA national championship and two consecutive NCAA championship podium finishes.
