TAMPA, FLA. (February 7, 2026) – South Florida women's basketball (14-10; 7-4 American) rolled to their fifth straight home win of the season Saturday night in the Yuengling Center, opening up a 25-point first half lead before dispatching Tulane (8-14; 3-7 American), 85-53.

Carla Brito was a big part of the commanding rebounding advantage as she posted a career-best 19 rebounds to go along with 13 points for her fifth double-double of the year. Brito pulled down 16 of those rebounds on the defensive end to tie the South Florida game record previously matched by standout Alisia Jenkins vs. Tulane in 2016.

How it Happened

USF took a 20-7 lead into the second quarter after forcing six turnovers in the opening frame, getting eight early points from Mputu and forcing Tulane to shoot 3-of-14 from the field.

Threes from Bulajic and Davidson followed by a Battle bucket opened up a 17-point lead for the Bulls with 4:32 to play in the first half and forced another Tulane timeout with South Florida leading 30-13.

The Bulls pushed their lead to 25 points, 43-18, behind seven straight made field goals before a Tulane three-pointer in the closing seconds sent the teams to halftime with South Florida leading, 43-21. The Bulls had held the Green Wave to 26 percent shooting (8-30) in the opening 20 minutes while forcing nine turnovers.

Tulane never threatened in the second half as South Florida extended its lead to a many as 32 points in the fourth quarter.
