TULSA, Okla. (March 22, 2026) –
Alexa Galligani recorded a game-high three hits for the University of South Florida on Sunday against Tulsa. The Bulls (25-10, 7-2 American) lost their first American Conference series of the season to the Golden Hurricane (10-19, 2-7 American) with a 3-2 defeat in the rubber match.
With a 3-for-4 game at the plate, Galligani extended her streak of reaching base safely to seven games. She hit her second home run of the season.
Alex Wilkes extended her streak of reaching safely to nine games with a walk today.
How It Happened
Amber Turner gave the Golden Hurricane a lead with a solo home run to center field in the bottom of the first inning.
Galligani led off the top of the third inning with a solo home run to right field. The game was tied at 1-1 as it moved to the fourth inning.
Tulsa took the lead again in the bottom of the fourth inning by scoring one run on two hits.
DaNia Brooks led off the top of the sixth inning with a bunt single.
Grace Rawn was hit by a pitch to put USF runners on first and second with no outs.
Kiley Strott laid down a sacrifice bunt to move both runners into scoring position.
Toryn Fulton recorded a bunt single in front of the circle. During that play, the first baseman made a throwing error to the catcher, which allowed Brooks to score from third. USF tied the game at 2-2.
Maci Cole put the Golden Hurricane ahead again with a solo home run to left field. Tulsa held on to win the game 3-2.
Carley Ernst started the game in the circle for the Bulls and pitched a complete game. She struck out one batter and gave up three earned runs.
