TAMPA, Fla. (March 30, 2026) – University of South Florida baseball returns home to Tampa to host Bethune-Cookman in a midweek matchup. The Bulls (22-6, 3-3 American) welcome the Wildcats (19-9, 8-1 SWAC) for a game Tuesday night.
The game will feature "Strikeout Cancer" night, with both teams holding "I play for" signs in support of the fight against cancer during the national anthem. The first 400 fans will receive an "I fight for" sign and a Strikeout Cancer towel.
Setting The Stage:
The Bulls are coming off a 2-1 series loss on the road at Charlotte. South Florida took Game 2 9-5 but lost the first and third games 11-2 and 10-3. The Wildcats hosted Jackson State for a three-game series. After dropping Game 1 8-7, Bethune-Cookman took the next two games 13-2 and 5-4.
Series History:
These two teams already met this season in Daytona for South Florida's first road game of the season. The Wildcats won the game, 4-3. The all-time series record is owned by the Bulls, leading 22-11. South Florida is 12-4 against Bethune-Cookman in Tampa and hasn't lost to the Wildcats at home since 2012.

The University of South Florida baseball program, founded in 1966, enters its 61st season in 2026. Head coach Mitch Hannahs returns for his second year at the helm after leading the Bulls to 32 wins in his debut season—the program's highest win total since 2018. USF also posted 16 victories in American Athletic Conference play, marking its best conference showing since joining the league.
Hannahs, a 2023 ABCA NCAA Division I Midwest Region Coach of the Year, was named USF's eighth head coach on June 8, 2024, after an 11-year run at Indiana State, where he tallied 355 wins, six conference titles, and five NCAA Regional appearances.
