TAMPA, Fla., April 10, 2026 – The University of South Florida beach volleyball team opened play at the Boise State Beach Bash on Friday, taking on Washington (receiving votes) and host No. 19 Boise State. The Bulls move to 18–8 overall following day one in Idaho.
Washington (RV) 4, South Florida 1
The Huskies struck first, as
Kate Stewart and
Ariana Medchill fell in straight sets to open the dual before South Florida quickly responded to even the match.
Zoey Mitchell and
Isabella Almeida tied the match at 1–1 with a three-set comeback victory, rallying for a 13–21, 21–19, 15–11 win.
Washington regained the lead as
Sasha Pasloski and
Morgan Anderson were defeated in straight sets, 21–19, 21–16.
The Huskies moved within one point of clinching with another close straight-set win, as
Alyx Zapatka and Tereza Lajkebova fell 21–19, 21–18, securing the dual for Washington.
In the final match,
Julia Panko and
Cornelia Crudu pushed to three sets but ultimately dropped a hard-fought 18–21, 21–15, 15–11 decision to close out the 4–1 result.
No 19. Boise State 5, South Florida 0
South Florida closed the day against Boise State, where the Broncos secured a 5–0 result.
Zoey Mitchell and
Isabella Almeida were first to finish, falling in straight sets as Boise State took the early lead.
Kate Stewart and
Ariana Medchill followed with one of the most competitive matches of the dual, pushing to three sets after a strong 21–15 second set. The pair ultimately fell 20–22, 21-15, 15–12.
Alyx Zapatka and Tereza Lajkebova were next to finish, dropping a straight-set decision, 16-21, 14–21, as Boise State continued to build momentum.
Sasha Pasloski and
Morgan Anderson also battled but fell in straight sets, 14–21, 18–21.
In the final match,
Cornelia Crudu and
Julia Panko pushed late but were unable to turn the result, as Boise State closed out the dual to win 5–0.
