Rob Higgins announced today his selection of
Jo Kremer as head coach of Bulls beach volleyball.
Â
A three-time national champion as a student-athlete at the University of Southern California, Kremer comes to Tampa after three seasons as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Stanford. She helped guide the Cardinal to the No. 1 overall seed in the 2026 NCAA Tournament and the program's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Championship Match, finishing the season with a school-record 39-5 mark.
Â

Â
"We are thrilled to welcome Jo and her husband, Marshall, to Bulls Nation at a very exciting time for South Florida Athletics," Higgins said. "Jo brings an incredible background as both a player and coach. She was part of three national championship teams at USC and has helped elevate programs at Stanford and Tulane to record-setting seasons and ranking among the nation's best programs. With a new on-campus beach volleyball facility set for completion this summer and Jo leading our program, Bulls beach volleyball is on a very exciting trajectory as we enter the program's second season."

Stanford reached the NCAA Tournament in each of her three seasons, captured the 2025 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) championship, and consistently ranked among the nation's top five teams.
Â
"I am deeply honored and humbled to have the opportunity to lead the USF Beach Volleyball Program," Kremer said. "I want thank

I share their vision for the future of USF Athletics, especially their belief in women's sports and their commitment to the student-athlete experience. I am extremely excited about the roster and look forward to supporting these unbelievable young women on and off the sand! Go Bulls!"

In 2026, Stanford produced the most successful season in program history. The Cardinal posted a school-record 39 wins, earned the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, and advanced to the national championship match for the first time before falling to UCLA. The Cardinal's 39-5 record was seven victories more than the previous program record and included 28 wins over top-20 ranked teams and 18 over top-10 ranked. Their three NCAA tournament wins matched the program's NCAA Tournament win total from it five previous appearances. Stanford finished ranked No. 2 in the final AVCA Collegiate Beach Volleyball Poll after having reached the No. 1 ranking in five of 10 weeks during the season. Three Cardinal players – Avery Jackson (first team), Kelly Belardi (first team) and Ruby Sorra (second team) – were named AVCA All-Americans and seven earned All-MPSF recognition.
During the 2025 season, Stanford secured its first-ever conference beach volleyball title in its inaugural season as an MPSF member. The Cardinal matched the program's single-season wins record, downed two No. 1-ranked opponents, and captured 18 top-20 ranked wins. Stanford advanced to its firth NCAA Championship appearance and earned the No. 3 overall seed. Four student-athletes were named AVCA All-America honors, while a conference-leading eight earned MPSF all-conference. Kelly Belardi and Charlotta Bell earned an AVCA Top-Flight award while being named MPSF Tournament Most Valuable Pair and to the MPSF All-Tournament Team. Freshman Avery Jackson and sophomore Brooke Rockwell were selected to the MPSF All-Tournament Team, and seven players were named to the inaugural MPSF All-Academic Team.Â
In her first season on The Farm in 2024, Stanford cemented its position as one of the best programs in the country, going 32-6 and posting 21 wins over top-ranked teams. The Cardinal collected seven all-conference honors, including Brooke Rockwell's Freshman of the Year award, and had four AVCA All-America selections for the first time in program history.Â
Prior to Stanford, Kremer spent the 2023 season as assistant coach at Tulane where she helped lead the Green Wave to one of the best seasons in program history. Tulane finished ranked No. 17 nationally after matching a program record for wins with a 24-10 mark. Three athletes earned All-Conference USA honors. Kremer led all video and statistics responsibilities for the beach volleyball program while also organizing all team bonding activities and scheduling all meal needs for the Green Wave.

A native of Pacific Palisades, Calif., Kremer has coached at several elite high school and club programs, including Harvard-Westlake School, Bishop Montgomery High School, Crescent Beach Volleyball, Surfside Volleyball, and Better at Beach.
As a player at USC, Kremer helped the Women of Troy capture three national championships — the 2015 AVCA title and NCAA championships in 2016 and 2017. She earned Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors in 2018 and was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team during USC's 2016 national championship run. Kremer also spent one season as libero at Notre Dame under former USC standout Debbie Brown.
Kremer graduated from USC in 2018 with a degree in communication. She married Marshall Brock in August 2024.
