NEW ORLEANS (May 10, 2026) – University of South Florida baseball fell to Tulane in the finale of a three-game road series in New Orleans. The Bulls (30-20, 9-15 American) dropped Game 3 to the Green Wave (25-28, 10-14 American) 9-5, losing the crucial conference series 2-1.
Nathan Earley continues to lead the South Florida offense, hitting a two-run home run that gave the Bulls their first runs of the game in the top of the seventh. Across the series, Earley went 9-for-15 with four doubles, two home runs, and nine RBIs. He also scored seven runs and stole a base.
After South Florida tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the seventh, Tulane responded with a three-run home run by Jason Wachs in the bottom half of the inning to regain control.
Some other offensive leaders for the Bulls were
Lance Trippel,
Bradke Lohry,
Matt Rose, and
Jevin Relaford. Trippel went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Lohry had two doubles and an RBI. Rose went 2-for-3 and scored two runs, and Relaford had a double and scored a run.
Ethan Sutton, the Bulls' usual closer with nine saves on the year, made the start on the bump and turned in his first collegiate quality start. Sutton threw 6.0 innings and allowed three runs on five hits while recording four strikeouts.
Landen Yorek relieved him to start the seventh, receiving the loss.
Edwin Alicea,
Lawson Gailey, and
Nakni Anna also made appearances to close out the game.
Following today's loss, South Florida drops to 9-15 and is currently outside the top eight in the American Conference standings. The Bulls host Wichita State, currently seventh in the conference, in a three-game series to finish the regular season this weekend. South Florida remains in contention for one of the final spots in the conference tournament.
