TAMPA, Fla. (September 29, 2026) – The South Florida women's soccer team hits the road Thursday, traveling to Boca Raton to take on Florida Atlantic at 7 p.m. at FAU Soccer Stadium. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
Setting the Stage
The Bulls enter Thursday's matchup with a 2-4-3 overall record and 0-0-2 in American Conference play, following a 1-1 draw against Memphis last Thursday at Corbett Stadium. South Florida battled through a strong Memphis attack, with freshman McKenna Battilla providing the equalizer in the 51st minute.
Battilla enters Thursday's match having scored the Bulls' lone goal in each of their last two matches.
Goalkeeper Gaby Rourke was named the American Conference Goalkeeper of the Week following her performance against Memphis. Rourke turned in a career night against the Tigers, recording a career-high 14 saves to keep the Bulls within striking distance throughout the match.
Florida Atlantic is 3-5-4 overall and 1-2-0 in American Conference play. The Owls are coming off a 5-0 loss to Memphis on Sunday. FAU's offense is led by freshman Hailey Santiago, who has recorded 20 points on nine goals and two assists this season. Her nine goals tie for second in the American Conference.
Series History
South Florida leads the all-time series against Florida Atlantic, 11-8-4. The two teams last met in Tampa, where the Bulls won 2-1.

About South Florida Women's Soccer
Chris Brown enters his third season as USF head coach after a record-setting debut in 2024, leading the Bulls to 12 wins and coaching both the American Athletic Conference Midfielder and Goalkeeper of the Year. South Florida produced six all-conference players. He recorded the most wins in a debut season with 12 wins. Brown followed that success by guiding the Bulls to a 9-8-3 overall record and a trip to the American Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinals in 2025, as South Florida earned a first-round tournament victory and secured three selections to the American Athletic Conference Preseason Watch List entering 2026. Brown spent 17 years as associate head coach (2007–2023), helping USF to three American Athletic Conference titles, eight NCAA appearances, and a 10-year streak of 10+ win seasons. He coached USF's first All-American, Evelyne Viens, now a Hall of Famer and Olympic gold medalist, and has developed multiple American Athletic Conference award winners. Players under his guidance hold most of the program's records.
