Is one of five seniors that is on the Bulls' roster this year and one of four that has been at USF for just two seasons ... Is an explosive, athletic player who plays best in up-tempo style of play ... Has good post-up skills and has the ability to elevate in post play ... Is also dangerous with good three-point range and has the ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim ... Was ranked as the 15th-best junior college player in the country and the fourth-best JUCO shooting guard in America.
2007-08 (Junior)
Saw time in 24 games on the year while getting the starting call in four of those 24 ... Averaged 1.4 points per contest and 1.3 rebounds per game ... Tallied a career-high seven points against New Hampshire (11/17/07) while also pulling down a career-best six rebounds ... Scored five points, grabbed two rebounds and recorded two steals the next day against Illinois State (11/18/07) while logging a career-high 24 minutes of action ... Established a career-high of three steals against No. 10/9 Duke (11/15/07) and then equalled that against New Hampshire ... Also had multiple thefts against Florida International (11/29/07) and Florida Gulf Coast (3/21/08) - in the WNIT first round - with two in each game.
Junior College
As a sophomore at Miami Dade Kendall, Sanders averaged 14.5 points, eight rebounds, 2.3 assists, three steals and a blocked shot per game ... Helped MDK to a 20-12 regular season record and its 17th trip to the Florida Community College Athletic Association (FCCAA) State Championships and Elite Eight ... Netted 15 points and dished out five assists in a 69-68 win over No. 1 ranked Kirkwood Community College - and current USF teammate Jazmine Sepulveda ... Also poured in 26 points and grabbed 11 boards against the top ranked team in the state, Santa Fe Community College, in a 73-68 victory ... As a freshman, Sanders averaged 12.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per outing as the Lady Sharks turned in a 21-5 slate and a 12-0 record in the FCCAA ... She was a two-time FCCAA Player of the Week and a four-time honorable mention ... Recorded five double-doubles and was one steal shy (20 points, 12 rebounds and nine steals) of turning in a triple-double.
High School
While at Miami Senior, Sanders helped the Stingrays to the State High School Championship and was named to the all-tournament team ... She averaged seven points, three assists and four rebounds per game during her senior campaign ... Was tabbed Miami Senior’s Most Valuable Player, and was named All-Dade County and all-state.
