Octavio Tobar will enter his second season as the USF men’s soccer athletic trainer in 2020. He joined the Bulls after working in both collegiate and Major League Soccer.

Before returning to Tampa, Octavio worked as the assistant athletic trainer and rehabilitation coordinator specialist for Atlanta United FC. One year prior to that he served as the athletic trainer for the men’s soccer program at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix Arizona.  

An alumnus of USF, both undergraduate and post-professional, he served as a student athletic trainer for multiple athletic programs at the university, including football, baseball, and men’s/women’s soccer.  

As a certified athletic trainer and while obtaining his masters, he held important roles with his team assignment including Medical Director of the American Athletic Conference Tournament as well as NCAA College Cup round of 32. Octavio has also gained additional experience during his post graduate work in assisting with preseason preparations for MLS teams such as Chicago Fire and Atlanta United FC.

Octavio is BOC Certified, and holds additional certifications in adult, infant and child CPR, Positional Release Therapy, Integrative Dry Needling, I.V Therapeutics, etc.
