Remuro Henry is in his eighth season as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the University of South Florida Track & Field team.

He works primarily with the long and triple jump athletes, helping guide the Bulls to national recognition through his expert coaching and mentoring.

During the 2026 season, Henry coached Alesandro Williams-Cardoso and Lilah Versluis, who both earned the American Conference Indoor Freshman of the Year. Williams-Cardoso was the long jump champion at the American Indoor Championships. Versluis and Zayin Roe competed at the NCAA East First Rounds in the triple jump.

In 2025, Henry coached three American Third Team All-Conference performers and an NCAA East First Rounds qualifier. Javell Brown earned a bronze medal in the triple jump at the American Indoor Championships (15.23m) and the American Outdoor Championships (15.28m). Shaniya Benjamin also earned a bronze medal in the long jump (6.09m) at the American Indoor Championships. Javon Brown competed at the NCAA East First Rounds in the triple jump.

In 2024, Henry played a pivotal role in leading the men’s indoor track and field team to a conference championship. Under his guidance, standout athlete Goodness Iredia became the long jump record holder at USF, achieving a jump of 7.90m (25’ 11") and ranking top 4 all-time in the triple jump. Iredia also set the outdoor school record with a jump of 7.94m (26' 0") and won both the long jump (7.69m) and triple jump (16.23m) titles at the 2024 American Outdoor Championships. Iredia was a First Team All-American in the long jump and also competed in the triple jump and long jump at the NCAA East First Rounds. Iredia also earned a silver medal in the triple jump (15.76m) at the American Indoor Championships. Shaniya Benjamin earned a bronze medal in the long jump at the American Indoor Championships (6.17m) and American Outdoor Championships (6.03m). She also competed at the NCAA East First Rounds in the long jump, 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay, and 200m and earned Second Team All-American honors in the 4x400m relay.

In the 2023 season, Henry coached Nia Robinson, who earned Indoor Second Team All-American honors in the long jump and claimed the AAC outdoor long jump championship with a mark of 6.69m (21’11”), earning the American Conference Women’s Field Most Outstanding Performance. Robinson also finished second in the long jump (6.28m) at the American Indoor Championships. Under Henry’s leadership, Robinson contributed to USF’s long jump squad ranking among the top 5 NCAA Division I teams. Shaniya Benjamin competed at the NCAA East First Rounds in the long jump, 200m, and 4x400m relay. David Ajama won the triple jump (15.63m) and earned a silver medal in the long jump (7.36m) at the American Indoor Championships.

During the 2022 season, Shaniya Benjamin won the long jump at the American Indoor Championships (6.13m) and finished second in the long jump at the American Outdoor Championships (6.06m). Benjamin competed at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the long jump, earning All-American Honorable Mention honors. David Ajama earned All-Conference honors in the indoor triple jump and outdoor long jump. Ajama competed at the NCAA East First Rounds in the long jump and triple jump.

Henry’s impact on USF’s jumpers continued in the 2021 season when he coached Shaniya Benjamin, a Tampa native who became the AAC Conference Long Jump Champion with a mark of 6.53m (21'5"). Benjamin also became USF’s No. 2 all-time outdoor performer in the 200m (22.97) and was the American Conference 4x400m relay champion. Benjamin was a Second Team All-American in the long jump (6.53m) and 4x100m relay (44.15) at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Additionally, David Ajama competed at the NCAA East First Rounds and earned a bronze medal (15.75m) in the triple jump at the American Outdoor Championships.

Before arriving at USF, Henry spent a season at Western Kentucky University (WKU), where he served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. He helped Annastacia Forrester achieve NCAA Outdoor All-America Honorable Mention status and post the fourth-longest indoor long jump in school history (19'11.50").

Henry’s coaching career began at Barton Community College, where he helped the Cougars win the 2018 conference and regional championships. He was named the USTFCCCA Men’s Assistant Coach of the Year after his athletes secured 50 All-American accolades, contributing significantly to Barton’s national title. Henry’s earlier coaching experience includes stints at Wayland Baptist University and Coffeyville Community College, where he coached Olympic medalist Andre De Grasse.

As a student-athlete, Henry competed at Barton Community College, where he earned five All-America honors and an individual national title before transferring to the University of Oklahoma, where he earned eight All-Big 12 honors.
