2022: Made 19 appearances, including five starts on the mound…went 2-0 with a 6.34 ERA…struck out 26 batters over 32.2 IP…made six scoreless appearances…struck out a season-high three batters four times…tossed 3.0 IP five times…logged at least 2.0 IP nine times.
2021: Made 19 appearances on the mound, including one start...posted a 4.76 ERA with one save...struck out 23 batters over 34 IP...owned a 0.94 WHIP...fanned a season-high five batters in his longest relief outing of the year (4.2 IP) vs. Cincy (4/30)...tossed two scoreless innings vs. Miami in the Gainesville Regional (6/5)...earned the save in the Regional championship game vs. South Alabama after entering with the tying and go-ahead runs in scoring position with only one out in the eighth inning.
2020: Made five appearances out of the bullpen during his first season at USF…had a season-high three strikeouts against No. 1 Florida (3/6/20) …finished the season with six strikeouts through five innings of work.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Environmental Research Institute HS in Miami…played varsity for coach Jesse Fernandez…hit for the cycle once...had an overall career total of 136.1 IP, 120 K, 29 BB and a 1.87 ERA…named 7-A All-District Team and Miami-Dade All-Star as a senior, All-Dade honorable mention three times, and 6-A All-District Team…drafted in the 39th round by Atlanta Braves in 2017 but did not sign…graduated high school with a 3.95 GPA.
PERSONAL: Born Joseph Michael Sanchez on Nov. 20, 1998 in Miami…son of Joseph and Maria Jacomino-Sanchez …has one younger brother, Derek, and one younger sister, Kaitlyn…father played baseball at Kean University…majoring in criminology...hobbies included fishing, golfing, watching baseball and playing video games (though he learned during the pandemic he’s not as good as he once thought)....favorite MLB team is the New York Yankees and favorite player is Max Scherzer...models his game after Greg Maddux...also played basketball and football growing up...wears No. 44 because 4 is his favorite number...wants to become a corporate lawyer following his baseball career...hidden talent is being a ping pong “savage”.
